Ladies, have you recently moved to the Slidell Area? If so, you are invited to join the Slidell Newcomer's Club.
This non-profit organization, formed in 1962 , is devoted to welcoming new residents to the community and providing a social atmosphere where interests can be shared and lasting friendships formed. Although membership is generally for women, husbands are included in many of the social activities.
Our members come from all over the world and have settled here either for a short time or for a lifetime. Our Club has helped ease the transition from another state or country.
Newcomers has a wide range of groups to encourage members to make friends and become involved in the community. There is something for everyone. All these activities are a great opportunity to get together with others that have the same interest as yourself. Except for the Garden Club, there are no extra dues for these gatherings. The only requirement is a willingness to meet new people and take part in fun filled activities. Click on Interest Groups and Events to see some of our many activities.
Newcomers' holds a General Meeting/Luncheon the second Wednesday of every month at 10:45 AM at Pinewood Country Club. We promise an informative meeting with a guest speaker most months, a great lunch and lots of good company.
We do require reservations and ask that you call the Reservations Chairman (985-649-2647) the Friday before the luncheon to make or cancel a reservation.
Membership to the Club is $25 annually. Membership entitles you to attend luncheons, Interest Groups, and Club functions. A newsletter is published monthly to keep you of current activities and general membership news. Call our Membership Chair (985-641-2021) to see about joining us.
